Shamrox Dance Team at the Sears Centre Arena

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL November 26, 2007 – Over 4,800 attendees watched the Xavier University basketball team beat Indiana University at the Sears Centre Arena on Saturday night and attendees got a free glimpse of the 2008 Chicago Shamrox Dance Team. Members of the squad performed for the first time this year leaving the audience at the Sears Centre Arena on their feet cheering for a second performance.

“The girls and I were completely overwhelmed by the feedback from the crowd,” said Dance Team Director Kim Brancamp. “Many of the fans were on their feet cheering for us with several even cornering us for autographs and pictures.”

This year’s dance team is made up of 18 girls with talent ranging from the Minnesota Viking’s dance team to the Chicago Bull’s famous Luvabulls. The 2008 Chicago Shamrox Dance Team will be hosting a Junior Dance Team Camp with participant’s ages 5 – 14 learning a dance from the 2008 Chicago Shamrox Dance Team during a special clinic. Participants will also perform the dance that they learned during half-time of the February 16 game against the New York Titans. Cost for the camp is $45 which includes a t-shirt and two tickets to the February 16th game. The Chicago Shamrox are currently selling season, group and individual tickets. Season and group tickets (featuring discounts and benefits) can be purchased by calling the Shamrox front office at 877-SHAMROX. The Shamrox take the field for their second season in Chicago on January 5 when they play the Toronto Rock at 7:00pm at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. The 2008 season features 8 Home Games that are played on weekend dates. In their Inaugural Season, the Shamrox drew an average attendance of 6,025 and record of 6-10, missing the playoffs by a tie breaker.
