Chipotle Named Official Sponsor of Shamrox “Opening Night”

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL December 16, 2007 - Chipotle Mexican Grill was announced today as the official sponsor for the 2008 Home Opener of the Chicago Shamrox, which takes place on Saturday, January 5 at 7pm against the Toronto Rock. The first 2,000 kids 14 and under will receive Chipotle Thundersticks and the first 2,000 fans 15 and up will receive a free burrito gift card redeemable at any of the 53 Chipotle locations in the Chicagoland area.

“The Home Opener will be even more fun with Chipotle as our sponsor,” said Chicago Shamrox President Connie Kowal. “The Shamrox are lucky to have a fan friendly sponsor like Chipotle.”

In addition to the giveaway items on “Opening Night”, Chipotle will be sponsoring two different promotional fan activities during the game. During the first timeout of the game, 50 t-shirts wrapped like burritos will be launched by the Chicago Shamrox Dance Team into the crowd using lacrosse sticks. Then at half-time, two fans will compete in the Chipotle Shootout, with the winner of the promotion receiving a Chipotle/Chicago Shamrox prize pack.

For the entire 2008 season, Chipotle will be sponsoring the “Chipotle Penalty Kill.” A predetermined section at each home game will win a coupon for a free Chipotle burrito on the first successful penalty kill by the Chicago Shamrox. If the Shamrox fail to kill the first penalty opportunity, another lucky section at the Sears Centre will be selected. New sections will be selected at each opportunity until a successful attempt on a penalty kill is accomplished by the Shamrox.

The Chicago Shamrox will be announcing their entire promotional schedule for the 2008 season this Monday, December 17 online at www.chicagoshamrox.com

Tickets are now on sale for the January 5 “Home Opener” as well as all individual games for the entire 2008 season. Individual tickets can be purchased by calling the Sears Centre box office at 888-SEARSTIX or by going online at www.searscentre.com. Season and group tickets, featuring discounts and benefits, can be purchased by calling the Shamrox front office at 877-SHAMROX. The Shamrox take the field for their second season in Chicago on January 5 when they play the Toronto Rock at 7pm at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. The 2008 season features 8 home games that are played on weekend dates. During the Inaugural Season in 2007, the Shamrox drew an average attendance of 6,025 and a record of 6-10, with the team missing the playoffs by a tie breaker.
