TORONTO, CANADA – The most popular figure at the Chicago Shamrox/Toronto Rock game tonight, the number two, which showed it’s head on several occasions in Toronto as the Shamrox and Rock fought it out at the Air Canada Centre.

Five different Shamrox players had at least two goals as the Shamrox took down the Rock 13-12 in the second straight overtime victory for the team. A pass to Mat Giles from Josh Wasson and Jason Clark helped Giles make the game winning goal 1:31 into overtime. With this win, the Shamrox now extend their winning streak to four-games, which is a new franchise record.

Tonight’s game was being watched closely by fans all over the league to see if Shamrox could not only hold off Toronto and keep themselves in the playoff hunt, but also to catch a glimpse of goalie Matt Roik. Roik continued his spectacular performance since coming to Chicago last month. Since Roik joined the team, the Shamrox have posted a 4-1 record and has made five straight 40+ save games, which might surprise the Philadelphia Wings, who traded Roik last month.

To the surprise of many in the league, long awaited defenseman Brad Self made his appearance and he put on a show by scoring two goals and three assists. Self however was not the only offensive force for the Shamrox tonight, Jason Clark, Jonas Derks, Cody Jacobs and Mat Giles all had multi-goal games.

The Chicago Shamrox will take their four-game winning streak on another road trip as the team will play back-to-back away games next weekend starting in New York City against the New York Titans (7-6) on Friday, April 18 at 6:30pm and then traveling upstate to play the Buffalo Bandits (8-6) the next night at 6:30pm.
