NEW YORK, NY – If the first quarter of tonight’s matchup was a preview to the entire game in New York City, the Shamrox would have won, but unfortunately the Titan’s offense was too much as the Shamrox were defeated by the Titans 14 – 7 at Madison Square Garden.

The Shamrox, who desperately needed this win in order to stay competitive in the playoff race, were out powered by the Titans during the last three quarters of the game, which definitely was not the prediction the Shamrox would of made after tonight’s first quarter.

Jonas Derks started off tonight’s game with a goal 1:08 into the first quarter while being assisted by Shamrox Captain Mat Giles and forward Jason Clark. Throughout the quarter, the Shamrox and Titans traded goals back and forth with the Shamrox holding the upper hand going into the second quarter with a 4 – 3 lead.

After a productive first part of the game, the Shamrox were held scoreless in the second quarter while the Titans scored four goals and took a 7 – 4 lead going into the second half of the game.

Unfortunately, the Titans were able to keep the lead during the rest of the game by outscoring the Shamrox 7 – 3 during the second half of regulation play. A late attempt to a fourth quarter comeback by the Shamrox was not enough for the team to secure the W.

Jonas Derks lead the team with two goals and one assist.

Tonight’s loss ends the Shamrox four-game winning streak, which was a new franchise record.

The Chicago Shamrox (5-8) will travel tomorrow night to Buffalo, where the team will take on the Buffalo Bandits (8-6) at 6:30PM CT.
