BUFFALO, NY – Heavy hearts are being felt not only in Buffalo tonight, but also in Chicago after the Chicago Shamrox lost 13-9 against the Buffalo Bandits while on the road. Tonight’s loss is a hard blow after the team lost 14-7 last night in New York City against the New York Titans.

The game tonight started much like last night’s game with the Shamrox producing in the first quarter and then falling into a hole the next. Bill McGlone started the action out in the first quarter with a goal, which was followed by two others by teammates Mat Giles and Josh Wasson. At the end of the action in the first quarter, the Shamrox were up 3 – 1 and things were looking up for the team. Shamrox goalie Matt Roik picked up 13 huge saves and held the Buffalo Bandits to only one goal during the quarter.

Balls that were being blocked during the first quarter were rolling by as the Bandits scored seven goals in second quarter and took an 8 – 5 lead going into the second half of the action. Most of the trouble the Shamrox had against Buffalo came from Mike Accursi of the Bandits, who scored four goals in the first half, three of which came in the second quarter alone.

Beings held scoreless in the third quarter didn’t help the team out, but the Shamrox quickly turned it around in the forth when scoring four goals, one of which came from Shamrox newcomer Brad Self, who was playing in his third game with the team. Even though the team scored four goals in forth, they still came up five goals short of winning the game.

On a positive note, Shamrox forward Bill McGlone is back. Even though the second year player has been on the team all year, Bill’s performance so far this season is a far cry from last year’s numbers (22 goals, 18 assists). Tonight the forward picked up his second multiple goal game of the season with two goals.
