Self Wins Transition Player of the Week

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL April 30, 2008 – The Chicago Shamrox announced today that defenseman Brad Self was named Transition Player of the Week during the National Lacrosse League weekly player awards for the final weekend of the regular season (April 25-27).

Self, who is in his first year with Chicago, scored five goals, tallied five assists and picked up 13 loose balls over two games this past weekend against Minnesota. Chicago split the series against Minnesota with a 12-10 win on Friday night, while in Minnesota, and a close 12-11 loss at home on Saturday, at the Sears Centre Arena.

This marks the first player of the week award for Brad Self while in a Chicago Shamrox uniform and the first during the 2008 season. The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league’s 12 teams.
